Attack on the Aleppo Central Prison is Repulsed by the Syrian Arab Army
Yesterday, at 3 A.M. Damascus Time, insurgents from Ahrar al-Sham and Jabhat al-Nusra coordinated an attack on the Aleppo Central Prison.
The attack began with a VBIED (Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device), which was used to breach the walls of the prison, previously; however, this time, the impact was not enough to penetrate through the defenses.
Artillery fire was exchanged between the SAA and the insurgents that resulted in 3 Syrian soldiers killed and more than a dozen wounded.
After three hours of violent firefights, the SAA was able to forestall the advance of the insurgents and counter with repeated shelling of the enemy’s position.
As the insurgents retreated, the Syrian Air Force bombarded the enemy as they began to seek shelter west of the Central Prison. Lt. Jazayf Daher of the Syrian Arab Army’s 3rd Army Corps – located at the Central Prison – stated the recent capture of Sheikh Najar in Aleppo has pressured the insurgents to attack SAA strongholds in order to prolong the imminent siege of Anadan.
The Syrian Arab Army has opened up a new front in Aleppo, as troops from Sheikh Najar have attacked insurgent positions at Haylaan and the stone quarries outside of the Haandarat District.
Yesterday, the SAA began operations on the outskirts of Haylaan and the stone quarries, but the attacks did not advance their position. The assault is expected to continue this morning with the Syrian Air Force’s aerial bombardment of enemy strongholds.

Syrian Arab Army strikes on terrorists in Idleb-Aleppo-Homs-Hama-Damascus countryside
Units of the armed forces on Saturday carried out operations against terrorists’ dens and gatherings in several areas, inflicting heavy losses upon them and destroying their weapons and ammunition.
Army units eliminate terrorists in Idleb
Terrorist groups were eliminated in army operations against terrorist gatherings in al-Bouaiti, Tal Salmo, Qara al-Ghazal, al-Majas and the area surrounding Abu al-Duhour airport in Idleb.
Army units killed and wounded terrorists, among them Arabs and Turks in Tal al-Nabi Ayyoub, Maardebseh and al-Talhieh farm in Saraqeb, Idleb countryside.
A military source told SANA that six cars equipped with heavy machineguns have been destroyed.
The Saudi terrorist Damen Saud al-Ahmad, the Qatari Mumtaz al-Sheikh Badran, the Jordanian Shaker Mahmoud Samaan, the Turkish Mahdi Ahmad Haswan, the Egyptian Imad Taj-Eddin al-Akkari and the Iraqi Jom’a Ali Hassan have been identified among the dead terrorists.
Terrorists ambushed, heavy weaponry destroyed in Aleppo
Army units ambushed numbers of terrorists in al-Sheikh Seed area in Aleppo, leaving many of them dead and wounded, according to a military source.
The source told SANA that the operation also resulted in destroying a heavy machinegun and a 23 mm anti-aircraft gun mounted on two cars and a vehicle loaded with weapons and ammunition.
Other army units eliminated armed terrorist groups and destroyed their weapons and ammunition in the neighborhoods of al-Jazmati, al-Sukkari, Bustan al-Qasr, Qadi Askar and al-Marjeh, the source said.
A number of terrorists got killed and others were injured in the surrounding of Aleppo Central Prison, the Industrial City, Mayer, Kweires, Rasm al-Abboud, Kaskees, al-Jadideh, al-Atareb and al-Mansoureh.
An army unit destroyed 4 of terrorists’ cars carrying weapons and ammunition, including a 23 mm anti-aircraft gun, in al-Sbeihiyeh village in the southern countryside of Aleppo.
Army eliminates 15 terrorists in Homs countryside
A unit of the armed forces destroyed a terrorist’s cache for ammunition and weapons and eliminated 15 terrorists in Tal Dao in al-Hula area, Homs countryside, among them terrorists Yahya Awad, the leader of an armed terrorist group affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra, Husam Abdel-Karim Alloush, Adnan al-Qasem and Mohammad Hammadeh.
A source told SANA that another army unit destroyed terrorist’s hideout, weapons’ warehouse and 3 cars equipped with heavy machineguns, killing and wounding a number of terrorists in Kafr Laha.
Terrorists Younis Radwan, the leader of an armed terrorist group, Taleb Sukari and Tamer al-Alaily were identified among the dead.
The source added that an army unit destroyed a number of cars with all the terrorists and weapons inside them in the villages of Abu Hawadid and Um Sahrij, in Jeb al-Jarrah.
The army also destroyed two terrorists’ gatherings in Talbiseh city and Abu al-Anz farms, killing and injuring an number of terrorists.
Army units also pounded terrorist dens in al-Husn village in Talkalakh countryside and near the Post Office in al-Rastan city in Homs countryside.
Army units eliminate so-called “Islamic Front” terrorists in Homs countryside
A number of so-called “Islamic Front” terrorists were killed or injured in a qualitative operation carried out by the army units against their dens in Um-Rajim in Homs eastern countryside.
A source told SANA reporter that the operation resulted in killing 35 terrorists and injuring tens more in addition to destroying a truck loaded with large amounts of weapons and ammunition and a pickup equipped with a heavy machinegun and a tanker used by terrorists to steal oil
Army eliminates non-syrian terrorists in Hama
A military source told SANA that army units destroyed terrorists’ hideouts and eliminated scores of terrorists in the northern countryside of Hama.
Tunisian terrorists Younis Said al-Younis and Matar al-Hamidi in addition to terrorists Basem Mustafa al-Marae, Nader Shaaban al-Yousef and Azam Salim al-Diko were identified among the dead.

Units of the army eliminated terrorists from so-called “Islamic Front” and “Nusra Front” and destroyed their vehicles, weapons and ammunition in a series of operations carried out against their gatherings in Yabroud, Darayya, Khan al-Sheih, Douma, Irbin, Harasta and Jobar in Damascus countryside.
Sources told SANA reporter that members of armed terrorist groups, some of them from “Nusra Front”, were eliminated and their weapons and ammunition were destroyed in a series of operations against their dens in Rima Farms, al-Sahil town and at the entrance and inside Yabroud city.
The sources pointed out that 15 terrorists were killed in clashes with the army units in Jobar and more than 25 terrorists from so-called “Islamic Front” were killed in a qualitative operation by the army eastern Madyara town in addition to destroying 5 cars, one of them was equipped with heavy machinegun.
