Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva, Alexey Borodavkin said Monday that the alleged U.S.-led coalition has not given up the double-dealing with terrorists in Syria.

“In violation of UN Security Council resolutions, the funding of armed jihadists from abroad continues”, Russian TASS News Agency quoted Borodavkin as saying, adding that “The U.S.-led Western coalition has never given up the double-dealing with terrorists in Syria”.

On November 14, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the operation to liberate the city of al-Boukamal carried by Syrian Arab Army backed by the Russian Aerospace Forces had revealed direct interaction between the U.S.-led coalition and Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS foreign-backed mercenary-terrorists) and support offered to it by this coalition… … …

U.S. occupation forces set to remain in Syria despite Daesh elimination

The Syrian army has advanced against Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS foreign-backed mercenary-terrorists) towards the Iraqi border, as the Syrian military & its allies pushes remaining terrorists out of the country. Earlier, it took control of the last Daesh stronghold in the country – the town of Abu-Kemal. Despite the fact that Daesh is almost eliminated in Syria, however, American occupation forces don’t seem to be planning to withdraw from the country that they invaded on the pretext of fighting terror. The U.S. is preparing to legitimize the Peshmerga and Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) by declaring several small countries in Iraq and Syria, a Turkish daily reported on Saturday.

Yeni Safak newspaper quoted a commander who held a senior position in the Syrian army for an extended period of time and shifted to opposition ranks in 2013 as saying, “I was told that in the second half of 2018, a total of seven boutique states would be declared in Syria and Iraq”.

“The Americans who met with us told us that they were our allies and that if we followed their conditions the opposition would be more strongly supported in line with the 2012 vision. America’s aim is to enable Israel to gain more of the Lebanon-Syria border and block Hezbollah’s passageway”, said the opposition commander, who highlighted that federal status would be granted along the Golan and as-Sweida line for Israel’s security and the security of the Druze community was a guise.

According to Yeni Safak, the U.S. included:

-the Latakia-Tartus-Damascus line in the Nusayri federal region
-the Sweida-Golan-Quneitra line for the Druze community
-Aleppo, Idlib and Hama were allocated to the Sunnis (in the divisive map plotted by the US)
-al-Hasakah, Northern Deir Ezzur, Raqqa, Manbij and Qamishli to the PKK
-Iraq’s Tikrit-Salah ad Din-Anbar-Falluja for the Sunnis
-Erbil-Duhok-Halabja-Sulaymaniya for the Peshmerga
-Baghdad-Nassriya- Kadisiyye-Najaf corridor for the Shiites

Syria War Report [13/10/2017]: Turkish troops entered Idlib

Late on October 12, the Turkish Army started deploying troops and vehicles in Syria’s Idlib province. According to reports, at least 30 Turkish vehicles entered Idlib via the Atme border crossing and deployed in an area between it and Darat Izza town.

Some sources speculated that the deployment was coordinated with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) that is the most powerful group in the militant-held Idlib province. However, this has not been confirmed by any evidence so far.

It’s interesting that the area of deployment allows Turkish forces to operate against both radicals Islamists in Idlib province and Kurdish militias in northern Aleppo.

Earlier, Turkish National Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli once again repeated that Ankara believes that weapons supplied to Kurdish-dominated US-backed forces in Syria will be used against Turkey.

In Deir Ezzor province, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) liberated Kusham Fawqani village and consolidated its gains north of Deir Ezzor. This allows to develop operations further in order to liberate Deir Ezzor city.

At the same time, government forces, led by the SAA Tiger Forces, further outflanked al-Maydin city and de-facto encircled it, according to pro-government sources. Clashes are ongoing in the urban area… … …

Ever since the United States began openly arming and working with Kurdish fanatics in Syria under the guise of “fighting ISIS,” Turkey has shown signs of irritation, concern, and outright anger towards America. This is because the Turks fear any support given to Kurds from outside forces will embolden them to renew their fight for a Kurdistan entity carved out of Turkish territory. Indeed, Turkey is also concerned that any arming of the YPG/PYD forces in Syria will necessarily act as a conduit for weapons making their way to the PKK in Turkey. 

Indeed, in a meeting of the Turkish National Security Council on Monday, a statement was released alleging that weapons given by the U.S. to the YPG had found their way to PKK fighters. “This shows that both are the same organization,” the statement said. It also added that other countries were using a “double standard” for how the treat terror groups, a rather obvious reference to the United States and its position on Kurdish fighters. 

Thus, after a series of diplomatic spats, the relationship between Turkey and the United States has become more and more tense and less reliable than at other time during the course of the Syrian crisis with Turkey warming up to Russia on top of an icier relationship with the U.S. 

On Monday, however, Turkish papers released a bombshell article revealing the number and location of U.S. bases inside Syria, even listing the number of troops housed in each base. Only last week, I reported that a number of sources had put the number of U.S. bases in Syria as up to nine. The Turkish report raises the count of American bases to ten.

The media is abuzz with news that the Caliph of Cockadoodledoo is not dead, but alive, somewhere in Syria.  It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that that area in Syria will be where American forces and allies are operating.  After all, what could possibly be more dramatic than Donald Trump’s victory over the modern world’s eidos of evil, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdaadi.  His triumph will be greater than Obama’s when the former president basked onanistically in his own self-made glory after assassinating the malevolent, Usaamaa Bin Laadin.

I reported that Al-Baghdaadi was killed 1 year ago by the Syrian Air Force at Al-Mayaadeen.  I hold to my report and consider the issue closed.  It is my argument that the Saddamist Iraqi officers running ISIS are deliberately concealing his death the way the Taliban concealed the death of their leader, Mullah Umar.  If I am wrong, then, I will own up to it.  Yet, I can sense the vibrations of falsehood and deceit all around me.  Is it possible that the Caliph is the ultimate “one hit wonder”?  He has only been seen one time since his sleep-inducing speech at the Al-Noori Mosque in Mosul.

Isn’t it interesting how “sources” emanating from the Kurds in Iraq are trumpeting his rebirth.  Why, it would seem the Americans are planning to bomb Al-Raqqa and conveniently find that one of their bombs landed right on the cringing Caliph turning him into thousands of unidentifiable particles.  Pieces of his body will be flown to England or Germany where unnamed, anonymous, forensic specialists will be able to “confirm” the identity of this blackguard……………………………………….

During his visit to the recent UN General Assembly in New York, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for the creation of a “national army” of so-called moderate rebel fighters.

According to Erdogan, this new entity would maintain security in a no-fly zone in Syria. Ankara has insisted on a no-fly zone in Syria for over a year. However, all proposals have been rejected by the international community.

The president added that there were some 65,000 fighters that could be involved in the initiative.

Political observer Mehmet Ali Guller commented to Sputnik on Erdogan’s proposal, saying that a “national army” made of Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters could be used as an “umbrella” for terrorist groups in Syria.

“Syria has its own armed forces. So the initiative to create a second ‘national army’ would mean an attempt to divide the country. This assumption contradicts with previous Ankara’s statement that the Euphrates Shield military operation is aimed at preserving Syria’s territorial integrity,” he pointed out.

“The Turkish government is playing a double game in Syria. On the one hand, the idea of a ‘national army’ could be connected with Ankara’s attempt to prevent a Kurdish corridor. On the other hand, it looks like part of Turkey’s strategy to topple [Syrian President Bashar] Assad and take control over part of the Syrian territory by uniting anti-Assad terrorist forces. The Euphrates Shield operation combines these two goals,” he suggested.

By sacrificing its Kurdish allies in northern Syria, Washington wants to mend relations with Ankara and prevent Turkey from strengthening its ties with Moscow, thus far killing two birds with one stone, expert on Middle Eastern affairs Jean Perier believes.

Washington’s Kurdish allies in Syria have become the US’ bargaining chip in negotiations with Ankara, according to Jean Perier, an independent researcher and expert on Middle Eastern affairs.

“By throwing the Kurds under the bus, the White House has not only solved the problem of mending its relations with Turkey by preventing Ankara from strengthening its ties of friendship with Moscow. It has also significantly reduced the intensity of Ankara’s demands to extradite the self-exiled cleric Muhammed Fethullah Gülen by making this matter a purely legal question and thus facilitating Joe Biden’s mission in Turkey,” Perier writes in his article for New Eastern Outlook.

“Although today Washington was ‘bearing gifts’ to Ankara at the expense of Syria’s Kurds, tomorrow any other ‘strategic partner’ of the White House may find itself in the shoes of those forsaken Peshmerga fighters,” Perier warns… … …

The region of Al Hasakah, which the Kurdish Nationalist Party (PYD) and its military wing YPG have declared a Kurdish federal state, does not have a Kurdish majority. Al Hasakah Governorate is a mosaic of Assyrian Christians, Armenians, Turkmen, Kurds and Bedouin Arabs.

Of the 1.5 million population of Al Hasakah, only 40% are ethnically Kurdish. Moreover, parts of Al Hasakah Governorate, such as Al Hasakah district, is less than 15% Kurdish (!).

Among the other large minorities in the area the Arabs and Assyrian Christians form a majority.

Declaring a small area with a wide array of ethnic groups as belonging to a specific ethnic minority is a recipe for oppression…

US Secretary of State John Kerry said Washington is considering a “plan B” in Syria, if peace negotiations and the ceasefire fail. Media reports suggest that the backup plan could include the division of Syria.

Mr. Kerry’s comments came after Russia and the US agreed a document on the cessation of hostilities in the Arab republic. According to the deal, the ceasefire will start on February 27 and will last for one week.

The truce is applied to all parties of the conflict, which indicated their commitment to accept the terms of the deal, except for the terrorist groups Daesh and al-Nusra Front.

Analyst Tim Anderson: “US intelligence almost four years ago said that partition of the country, a caliphate in the eastern part of Syria is exactly what the US wanted. So this is not really something new but it does show that the US is still continuing with its aggression against the Syrian state”.
