Lavrov pointed out that “the Americans have taken dangerous unilateral steps in the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, which seems to be an approach for undermining Syria’s territorial integrity”.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova affirmed that the US military presence in Syria poses dangerous threat to the political process and territorial integrity of the country.

“The US illegal military presence on the Syrian lands is dangerous challenge before realizing safety and security there and preserving its territorial integrity,” Zakharova said at a weekly press conference on Thursday.

She added that the US exploits the pretext of the chemical weapons to undermine the political settlement to the crisis, saying that the US seems to be depending, in the previous period upon infiltrating uncertain information by some sides and other topics without any confirmed facts.

Russia has slammed as “unacceptable” the U.S. threats against the legitimate leadership in Syria following a recent White House statement alleging that this leadership is planning a chemical attack.

“We heard about this statement. We don’t know what it’s based on. And, of course, we strongly disagree with the wording ‘another attack,” the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Novosti agency on Tuesday.

“We also consider any similar threats to the legitimate leadership of the Syrian Arab Republic unacceptable,” Peskov stressed.

“The Syrian government cannot be held accountable for the April 4 chemical attack in Idleb province “because, as you know, despite all Russia’s demands, an unbiased international investigation of the previous tragedy has not been carried out,” he added.

However, he noted that a potential danger of repeated provocations with chemical weapons use in Syria still exists as there is evidence that ISIS terrorists possess such arms…………….

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed on Wednesday that his country will continue to hit ISIS terrorists and destroy them wherever they are on the Syrian territory.
In a press conference with his Zambian counterpart, Lavrov said that the bases and facilities affiliated to ISIS terrorist organization are legitimate targets of the Russian Air Force and these are the targets that should be bombed by all those who follow UN resolutions to resolve the crisis in Syria.
He pointed out that the Russian Air Force spotted the movements of a convoy for ISIS that was moving from Raqqa towards Palmyra and bombed it, affirming that this will continue in all cases where Russia will bomb any convoy of ISIS in the Syrian territory.

Lavrov schools Tillerson in basic lessons of history

(updated) At the Tillerson – Lavrov talks in Moscow last week, Russia’s Foreign Minister disagreed with the US Secretary of State in their stance on the use of chemical weapons by Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad. Russia stands for a full investigation to take place, prior to taking any kind of action. In his explanation Lavrov noted, that the only source of information on the Idlib gas attack comes from the widely discredited ‘White Helmets’ propagandists. No official investigation by international bodies, has taken place. Tillerson, on the other hand, is quite assured of Assad’s involvement in the attack, without questioning White Helmets’ evidence. Furthermore, Russia’s top diplomat made it quite clear that no more ‘regime changes’ are possible, citing the devastating examples of Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya and Sudan.
This week, the US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, and UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Boris Johnson, were set to meet with Russia’s representatives in Moscow. Johnson has since pulled out of the meeting, in wake of the US airstrike on Syria, citing “Russia’s continued defence of the Assad regime.” While the backdrop to this meeting sets the stage to be particularly on edge, it is also true that to this day, no coherent foreign policy strategy has been made public on behalf of the Trump administration, and most certainly, no collusion has taken place with President Putin (despite the fake news rumours on CNN and BBC).
In this clip, Maria Zakharova, Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, remains her pragmatic self in her stance on illegal US actions. Most notably, she claims that one of the components to the recent attack on Syria by the US, is to mask the humanitarian disaster that is Mosul, under a US-led counter-terrorism operation. Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Affairs Minister – he reminds Tillerson that he does not dance with boys!

Deep State problems: Putin warns of more chemical attacks

At Press Conference of Vladimir Putin and his Italian counterpart, Sergio Mattarella, the Russian President was asked for his view in regard to the US airstrike on Syria. His response revealed not a bashing of the new US administration, but the rivalries of the US “deep state” military-financial interests that potentially pressured President Trump into the airstrike on Syria. “Should anything go really wrong – Trump is who they will blame” – he said.
Moreover, Putin told reporters that Russian intelligence indicates that terrorist factions operating in Syria are planning further chemical weapons attacks, likely in regions south of Damascus. These attacks will then be used as justification for more strikes against the Assad government.
A day earlier, Fort Russ Editor in Chief, Joaquin Flores, stated the very same reasoning on RT talk-show CrossTalk Bullhorns. In his analysis, he explained that there are a lot more interests than meet the eye when it comes to the Idlib “chemical gas attack” and the subsequent US airstrike on Syria.

In the last few years, the US secret services stepped up their efforts to recruit Russian diplomats, Lavrov said. ~ “We have not made public the full statistics on this matter. But recently, in the past few years and especially during Obama’s second stint, the number of such unfriendly actions directed at our diplomats have grown,” Lavrov said at a press conference wrapping up last year.

“The war may be stopped, and the rights of Christians, Muslims and other people who have lived all their life in Syria, in other regional countries, may be ensured first of all through the use of force, because it is necessary to beat terrorism ruthlessly and beat it completely,” Lavrov told reporters. ~ “That is what we are doing, helping the Syrian army and the militia, who jointly with the Syrian army are involved in the fight against terrorism.” ~ He pointed out that the US wanted to use Daesh and al-Nusra Front terrorist organization to topple Syria’s President Assad.

He stressed that Moscow welcomes Trump’s assertions that counterterrorism will be one of his priorities. Lavrov assessed that previous statements made by Trump and his team show that they will not use double standards in the war on terror. Russian Foreign Minister further said that Moscow shares Trump’s view that each country should be responsible for their own development.

Moscow has blasted as “outrageous twisting of the facts” a statement by EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, who said the EU was the only party providing aid to Syria.

“It’s outrageous twisting of facts which ignores what Russia has been doing for a long time”, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also officially responded to Mogherini’s statement “with surprise,”and said that Russia, “unlike other international players, is actively supplying thousands of tons of humanitarian aid to various regions in Syria, including the liberated areas in eastern Aleppo, at the risk of Russian military lives.”

“If the high representative [Mogherini] means providing assistance to terrorists and extremists, then we don’t participate in this, indeed”, the statement added….

The Russian official’s statement comes after the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said in Berlin on Wednesday, that the EU “are the ones – the ones, not among the ones – that are providing humanitarian aid, in Syria and around. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday that the militants who refuse to leave eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city will be eliminated.

In a press conference with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland in Moscow, Lavrov said that “any way, if somebody refuses to leave Aleppo on good terms, he will be eliminated as I understand. There is no other way out.”
The Russian foreign minister said that the Russia-US agreement on the withdrawal of militants from Aleppo has not been formalized yet.

Commenting on targeting the Russian mobile hospital in Aleppo on Monday, Lavrov said Russia is confident that it was planned previously by those who are trying to maintain their positions and cover their supporters abroad.

Foreign Ministers of Syria, Russia and Iran held Friday a joint press conference after a tripartite meeting held in Moscow.

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem described the atmosphere during the tripartite meeting as “positive” and “very comfortable ”.

“We in Syria have become convinced of the sincerity of the Russian and Iranian efforts in helping us rout terrorism,” al-Moallem said.

Al-Moallem added that he conveyed the Syrian leadership, government and people’s thanks to President Putin and the friendly people of Russia for the active contribution in fighting terrorism, and the thanks of President Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian people to the Iranian leadership and President Hassan Rouhani for standing by the Syrian army units in their war against terrorism.

He noted that those waging the propaganda against Russia today are the same who have been conspiring against Syria for five years, stressing that “we will not be discouraged by this propaganda targeting us from continuing the fight against terrorism, especially in Aleppo.”

For his part, the Russian Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that the armed terrorist groups have breached the humanitarian truce in Aleppo and other states failed to prevent these groups from continuing their operations and using civilians as humanitarian shields, indicating that Syria and Russia have halted their military operations against terrorists in the city and the Russian and Syrian warplanes have not flown closer than 10 kilometers to Aleppo for ten days.

”We hoped that humanitarian pauses and the stop of airstrikes will be used by our American partners to convince the so-called moderate opposition to separate from Jabhat al-Nusra and Jabhat Fatah al-Sham, which are in fact those who lead all groups of armed opposition in eastern Aleppo. Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov made history […] at the UN’s meeting of the Security Council, declaring that future unilateral pauses couched as ‘ceasefire agreements’ are off the table. He has skillfully referred to the mounting factual evidence of the US’s continued flagrant violations on any number of points of agreement over the course of this conflict.

These include primarily the violations of the ceasefire itself, in conjunction with officially leaked elements of the ‘secret text’ of the recent ceasefire which evidence that the US has been unable to reign in a number of groups signing onto previous ceasefires, let alone those groups the US claims to be moderates but did not sign onto the ceasefire, both of which continue to work closely with either ISIS or Jabat Al-Nusra. Russia has no doubt pointed out successfully that several of these groups are fictional entities, and are but operational synonyms of Al-Nusra (formerly called Al-Qaeda of the Levant), itself.

The impossible to ignore context here naturally is the ceasefire ending US joint attack alongside ISIS upon the Syrian Arab Army position at Deir ez-Zor which was sustained and lasted over an hour, despite calls from the Russian coordinating hotline which existed pursuant to standing agreements on deconfliction.

Russian Defense Ministry: “Only the Syrian army has been observing the ceasefire regime within these three days of implementation of the agreements while the US-led ‘moderate opposition’ has been increasing the number of shellings of residential quarters”.

The Syrian Army has started withdrawal of heavy military equipment to create demilitarized zone, the Russian General Staff stated on Thursday.

“The Syrian governmant troops have stopped firing and begun to withdraw their tanks, IFV and artillery to a set distance to create a demilitarized zone. The Russian Aerospace Force and the Syrian Air Force have stopped airstrikes on areas where opposition units may be located,” Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznikhir, first deputy chief of the General Staff’s Main Operational Department, told reporters.

“The Russian side is completely fulfilling its obligations under the ceasefire agreement. A checkpoint created on Castello Road has been handed over to the Red Crescent Society. The people’s self-defense units ‘Bustan’ and ‘Shield’ are defending the checkpoint,” Poznikhir said.

The extremist groups redeploy their units to Kafr Hamrah village located to the northwest of Aleppo city amid nationwide ceasefire in Syria, a source in the city militia told RIA Novosti on Thursday.

(SANA) ~ Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced on Friday reaching a deal to enhance the cessation of hostilities in Syria that would begin on Monday and that Russia and the US will coordinate to face terrorism and to provide the suitable conditions for the resumption of the inter-Syrian dialogue.

Lavrov added that the first step in the deal is holding a 48-hour truce then extending it for 48 more hours, and later the truce will be extended for seven consecutive days and after that a joint Russian-US coordination center will be established to coordinate air attacks against agreed terrorist targets in Syria.

The United States seems to want al-Nusra Front terrorist group to remain in some form in Syria and use it to achieve own goals, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov urged the US earlier this month to convince those rebel groups which they support in Syria to leave areas where al-Nusra Front militants are present.

Earlier, Washington asked Moscow to direct its airstrikes solely at al-Nusra Front and refrain from targeting so-called “moderate” rebels, working with al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria.

“The Americans are now saying that they are unable to remove the ‘good’ opposition members from the positions held by al-Nusra Front, and that they will need another two-three months. I am under the impression that there is a game here and they may want to keep al-Nusra Front in some form and later use it to overthrow the [Assad] regime,” Lavrov said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Interestingly, both Moscow and Washington view al-Nusra Front as a terrorist organization.

In this context, distancing itself from al-Qaeda’s offshoot should have been a non-issue for what Russian officials often have referred to as “patriotic” opposition.

Why are they not severing ties will al-Qaeda then?

Units of Kurdish militia have abandoned defenses in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsood and retreated, a spokesman for the Russian center for reconciliation of opposing sides in Syria said on Saturday.

Over the past 24 hours, terrorists delivered strikes from multiple rocket launchers, mortars and anti-aircraft guns on the residential areas of Handrat, Sheikh Maqsood, al-Muhafaza, al-Zahraa and al-Nayrab airport in the city of Aleppo.

Also, the residential localities of Kinsibba and Nahshebba in the Latakia region and Fua and Kafr Haya in the Idlib region came under shelling.

The meeting between American, Turkish, Israeli and SDF representatives, joined by military operational leaders of the Free Syrian Army, ISIS and al Nusra, outlined a staged “theatrical” chain of events intended to move ISIS ostensibly out of Northern Syria and replace them with a Turkish/Israeli consortium which has, in actuality, managed ISIS all along.

This schedule, we believe, was arranged for in Azaz, indicating full cooperation between the US, Turkey, Israel and terrorist forces in both Syria and Iraq, and that Kurdish forces are fully complicit.

Troops on Monday reached within 24 km (15 miles) of Lake Assad, the key reservoir in the Euphrates Valley contained by the Tabqa Dam.

On Saturday, the Syrian army entered Raqqah Province for the first time since 2014, when Daesh unleashed its ferocious campaign of terror in the Arab country.

A Russian ceasefire monitoring center in Syria says more than 2,000 militants have gathered in a northern neighborhood of the embattled city of Aleppo for an offensive.

In a statement, the center said Saturday that “militants from different terrorist organizations and groups of the so-called ‘moderate opposition’ are concentrated in the region of Sheikh Maqsood.”

The US is “ready to de facto ally” with its archenemies from Al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria as part of its “obsession” by using “so-called moderate” groups to overthrow the Syrian government, former UK ambassador to Syria, Peter Ford, told RT in an exclusive interview.

The US “is effectively siding with a branch of Al-Qaeda” in Syria, Peter Ford told RT, speaking of Washington’s recent request to Moscow not to target Al-Nusra positions with air strikes for the sake of moderate opposition groups located in the same area.

The former ambassador denounced the move as “not reasonable at all” and “grotesque.” He also sharply criticized the US for their “obsession with getting rid of Assad and the secular government in Syria” that leads them right to the alliance with “their arch-enemies”and to the loss of “all moral and practical competence.”

The former ambassador also stressed that there is “virtually no difference” between Al-Nusra and such groups as Jaish al-Islam, Ahrar al-Sham and Jaish al-Fatah as they are “indistinguishable” in terms of ideology, sectarian bias and their practical methods consisting of “massacres and ruthlessness.”

The terrorist group Al Nusra Front has killed over 40 people in massive artillery shelling of the Syrian city of Aleppo, the Russian military reported.

The Al-Qaeda branch used rocket artillery, mortars and anti-aircraft cannons to attack several neighborhoods of the war-torn city, the Russian military mission in Syria reported on Saturday.

The attack devastated a police station and seriously damaged several residential buildings, the report said. Over 40 civilians, security officers and military troops were killed by the shelling while some 100 were injured.

Washington has asked Moscow not to conduct airstrikes against al-Nusra Front, which is Al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria, for fear that members of the “moderate opposition” could also be hit, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has reported.

“They [the US] are telling us not to hit it [al-Nusra Front], because there are also ‘normal’ opposition groups [on those territories],” Lavrov said in an interview with local Russian media that was published on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website.

I’ll start with this first one since there seems to be so much confusion regarding this subject to people who mainly watch the mainstream media.

To those of you who read our news, please share these images so they may reach those reporting false reports from “Syrian Activists.”

Again, I dont take much stalk in a news story that shows no proof of their “claim,” and you shouldnt either.

After all, without proof, they are just “claims.” Dont by into it. Dont assume they are true because you saw it on the news.

News is scripted these days, literally. Scripts are sent around that most major channels report.

They get good looking people to tell you what they want you to be told.

They “spoon feed” you information but it doesnt make it truth.

I will back up my stories, but dont usually have to, because I do more than make “claims.”

(Finian Cunningham) ~ An end to the Syrian conflict is desperately needed. But the latest plan for a cessation of violence is unlikely to take hold, as the deal struck by international powers is based on fundamentally opposing premises.

In short, Washington and its allies want regime change, while Russia and Iran insist that President Bashar Assad and his government are the legitimate ruling authorities in Syria. All sides are mandated by UN resolutions to respect the sovereign will of the Syrian people – to determine the political future of their country.

But the Western powers and their regional partners, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar in particular, are insisting – explicitly or implicitly – on their objective of ousting Assad. This premise of unlawful interference in the affairs of a sovereign state is the crux of the problem, and why the latest seeming agreement for a nationwide truce is as thin as the paper it is written on.

US Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced the proposal for a cessation of hostilities following six hours of negotiations with 15 other member states belonging to the International Syria Support Group in Munich last Friday. The truce is supposed to come into effect later this week.

The truce outlined in an ISSG communique does not apply to two militant groups: Islamic State (IS, also known as ISIL/ISIL or Daesh) and the Jabhat al Nusra Front. Both are linked to Al Qaeda and are officially listed by international governments as terrorist organizations. The provision also exempts “other terror groups” but does not specify the names. This is a major loophole in the proposed truce deal which will make its application extremely problematic if not infeasible.

That loophole also alludes to the foreign-backed nature of the conflict in Syria.

What’s not too clear to us is: but if all sides fighting in Syria (against the legitimate government of Damascus) are in one way or another terrorist organizations, or affiliated and working side by side to al-Qaeda and Daesh, (against which it was clearly stated that it is legitimate and permissible to continue fighting), by who should be exercised this “ceasefire”?!?  The FSA? We all know that the FSA does not exist anymore and that its members and leaders are the same of the various gangs affiliated with al-Qaeda (or respond to their orders).

To be honest and fair, we have to say that Syria is going to win just some battles, but the war still will rage for a long time, until the terrorism and its godfathers, will be completely and globally won, beated, extirpated, because the ‘chosen’ enemies of Syria (and Russia and Iran…) not easily stop wanting to achieve their evil goals.

but if all sides fighting in Syria against the government of Damascus, are in one way or another terrorist organizations, or affiliated with recognized terrorist organizations (against which it was clearly stated that it is permissible to continue fighting), by who should be exercised this “ceasefire”?!?

Russian intelligence has information on secret contacts between Turkey and the leadership of the Islamic State, according to the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. During an interview with Russia’s Moskovsky Komsomolets daily Lavrov said:

“There’s information that the leadership of Daesh is continuing secret contacts with the Turkish leadership”.

“The Turkish leadership has completely lost its touch with the real world”.

“… indicators show that ISIS leaders are maintaining covert communication with Turkish officials to find alternatives for smuggling, particularly since Russian airstrikes have seriously limited their ability to use traditional smuggling methods”.

The Russian Minister noted that Saudi Arabia said it might send forces from the “alliance for combating Islamic terrorism” it created.

(Finian Cunningham) ~ Syrian state forces have every right to extirpate all illegally armed groups on the sovereign territory of Syria. While the Geneva negotiations were in process, the main foreign conduits of military supply to the mercenaries –Turkey and Saudi Arabia –had not desisted from their illegal interference in Syria. That was in flagrant violation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions in November and December calling for a global clampdown on terrorist organizations.

Not only were Turkey and Saudi Arabia continuing to supply illegally armed groups inside Syria, these two Western allies had included terrorist organizations into the so-called “opposition”at the Geneva talks. The grandly named High Negotiating Committee demanded it would only continue participating on the condition that the Assad government eventually stands down. That’s the real, proximate reason for breakdown, no matter what John Kerry might say.

Can you believe it? A bunch of foreign-backed and exiled-based terrorists dictating terms to the elected government of Syria. Their foot-soldiers are getting wiped out on the ground –after five years of inflicting destruction on Syria –and yet these impostors are attempting to write the “peace terms”… … …

(Finnian Cunnigham) ~ The main problem resides with the United States and Saudi Arabia both insisting that two militant groups should be part of the opposition to the Syrian government.

Those groups are Jaish al-Islam (Army of Islam) and Ahrar al-Shams (Nation of Syria).

Both are connected logistically and ideologically with Al Qaeda terror groups, including the so-called Islamic State.

The delay in the Geneva talks getting underway is because the Syrian government and its foreign ally, Russia, stipulate that neither Jaish al-Islam nor Ahrar al-Islam are allowed at the negotiating table.

Because they are terrorist organizations.

The purpose for their inclusion is to expedite Washington’s agenda of regime change in Syria, and has nothing to do with finding a genuinely peaceful settlement.

What the media should be saying is that the political talks on Syria are being held to ransom by the insistence of including terrorist groups in the negotiations.

And the people insisting on the terror groups partaking are Washington and its regional Arab allies.

That truth is far too grim to admit to public knowledge and discussion.

For such truth would indict Washington as a terror sponsor, answerable to international law.

…and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, also if very reluctantly, would seems is accepting it, even if Michael Bogdanov (Russian President’s Special Envoy and Deputy Foreign Minister) stated that “Only Syrians decide who would participate on talks in Geneva”.

The blackmail with which John Kerry would threaten Lavrov would be to accuse Russia at the Security Council of the United Nations of wanting undermine the meetings of peace…while we know rather well that it is precisely the U.S. who want to boycott in any way the meeting in Geneva, trying to prolong as much as possible the armed conflicts by the mercenary gangs at their service (by Saudi-Turkish hands) and boosting the terrorist attacks against the Syrian population.

…U.S. and their allies appoint Bin Laden admirer as negotiator in Syria peace talks.
On the same day, when peace talks on Syria were to start, US Secretary of State John Kerry insisted that , Jeish al-Islam, the organization founded by Osama bin Laden admirer, Zahran Allouch, would represent the anti-Assad forces in the upcoming Syrian peace talks, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov very reluctantly accepted.
