Armed men in more regions laid down weapons and joined peace agreement with the Syrian Army, the Russian Defense Ministry said in its latest report.

The Ministry said in its report that gunmen in more regions have ended fight with Syrian government forces, adding, “The total number of regions, towns and villages that have thus far endorsed peace agreement with Damascus stands at 2,131.”

The ministry added that talks are underway between the government officials and representatives of militants in the province of Aleppo, Damascus, Hama, Homs, Quneitra and Damascus to join the peace plan…..

(TURN ON ENG SUBS) ~ Representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry and the moderate Syrian opposition have reached an agreement on the third de-escalation zone north of the city of Homs, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said on Thursday.
“On July 31, a new round of talks between representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry and the moderate Syrian opposition was held in Cairo,” he said. “The meeting’s participants reached an agreement concerning the functioning of the third de-escalation zone north of the city of Homs, which will include 84 settlements with a population of more than 147,000,” Konashenkov added.
The general pointed out that in early July, during the fifth round of talks in Kazakhstan’s capital of Astana, a decision had been made to establish four de-escalation zones in Syria. Two of them – in southwest Syria and on the outskirts of Damascus (in Eastern Ghouta) – have already been set up.
A ceasefire in the third de-escalation zone will enter into force on August 3 starting from 12:00 p.m. local time, Konashenkov said.
“According to the reached agreement, today, on August 3, starting from 12:00 p.m. local time, armed units of the moderate opposition and government troops will cease fire from all weapons,” he said.
“I would like to emphasize that, just like in the two previously set up de-escalation zones, the ceasefire in the Homs de-escalation zone will not apply to members of the Islamic State and Jabhat al-Nusra terror groups [both outlawed in Russia – TASS],” Konashenkov added. “Moreover, in accordance with the agreement, the moderate opposition has pledged to drive all the units joining the Islamic State and Jabhat al-Nusra out of the areas of the Homs Governorate that it controls,” the Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesman said.
According to him, starting from August 4, Russian military police will establish two check points along the line of contact north of Homs, as well as three observation posts. Konashenkov said that military police were entrusted with the tasks of separating the opposing sides, monitoring the implementation of the ceasefire and ensuring the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, as well as medical and casualty evacuation. “All the sick and wounded will be provided with an opportunity to undergo medical treatment either at the Russian military hospital or Syrian hospitals,” Konashenkov noted.

“The opposition, in turn, will unblock the section of the Homs-Hama highway passing through the de-escalation zone,” he added. According to the Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesman, local councils will address the issues of everyday life in the de-escalation zone. Besides, a National Justice Committee is planned to be set up which will comprise “representatives of the opposition and all major ethnic, political and religious groups residing in the region,” the Russian general added.
“Russia will continue its efforts aimed at restoring peace in Syria,” Konashenkov said. He pointed out that in the past ten days, as many as 52 settlements had joined the ceasefire agreement, while Russia had carried out 41 humanitarian missions, providing more than 55 tonnes of food to Syrian civilians.

Russian President Vladimir Putin endorsed a bill ratifying a protocol to the 2015 agreement between Moscow and Damascus regulating the deployment of the Russian Air Force in Syria for 49 years.

The protocol signed by Russia and Syria in January 2017 regulated issues related to the deployment of the Russian Air Force on Syrian territory as well as related to Russia’s exercise of jurisdiction over its military movable and immovable assets on Syrian territory, AMN reported.

It also covers the measures needed to maintain the operation efficiency of the Russia Air Force.

Under the protocol, the Russian Air Force are allowed to stay on Syrian territory for 49 years with an option of automatically extending that arrangement for 25-year periods after this term expires.

The document, published on the Russian official legal information website, particularly says that the Syrian government is handing over a plot of land in Lattakia province, where the Humeimim Air Base is located, over to Russia for its free use.

The bill ratifying the protocol was signed by Putin on Thursday, according to a Kremlin statement.

The Russian Air Force was deployed to Syria on September 30, 2015 at the request of the Syrian government as part of the operation aimed at fighting terrorist groups. The group was stationed at the Humeimim Air Base…………………………….

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russian marine officers and sailors in St. Petersburg, Sunday, to mark the occasion of Russia’s Navy Day.

Russian President Vladimir Putin attends St. Petersburg’s maritime parade on Navy Day on Sunday, July 30. Around 50 ships of the Russian Navy and 70 aircraft of the naval aviation unit will take part in this year’s maritime parade.

Putin praised the troops, saying “Today, the Navy solves not only the traditional tasks, but also adequately meets new challenges, makes a significant contribution to the fight against terrorism, piracy.”

More than 50 ships and submarines took part in the parade, while more than 40 planes and helicopters flew above the city.

Navy Day is celebrated in Russia on July 30 with military parades taking place across the country. The celebration dates back to the Soviet era, having been established in 1939. It was stopped in 1980 then reinstated by Putin in 2003.

The Syrian Arab Army has reached the Iraqi border, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. Russian ministry officers also accused the U.S. forces of hindering the Syrian war effort against terrorism by blocking SAA attacks against Daesh (ISIS) near the Syrian border with Iraq

While we don’t have a lot of details yet, here’s what we can say: this is a brilliant move if true. Not exactly a checkmate yet, but definitely a check on US ambitions in southern Syria.

In essence, as Americans were busy bombing small Syrian groups entering their declared exclusion zone via the main road, a separate Syrian force staged a lightning-quick advance through roadless desert, well to the east of the “deconfliction” zone enveloping the Americans.

If the U.S. forces are not cut off from ISIS they no longer have an excuse to continue occupying this part of Syria. (Or will they insist they get to leapfrog over the Syrian army?)

Russians are saying it will be them and the Syrians — rather than the Americans — who will be advancing along the Iraqi border towards al-Bukamal (the major border crossing in the Euphrates valley coveted by the Pentagon)

Russian officers also accused the US of hindering the Syrian war effort against ISIS, by blocking its military from opening a new front against the group: “The coalition air forces and the strongholds of the forces of New Syrian Army have blocked the way of the government forces, tasked with defeating IS groups.”

“This is a violation of the sovereign right of Syria to protect it borders.”

Apparently in sync with the Syrian army move south, Iraqi forces likewise advanced against ISIS from their side and met on the border. Thus Syria has not just reached the formal Iraqi border, but actually re-established an actual link to Iraq.

Moscow has blasted as “outrageous twisting of the facts” a statement by EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, who said the EU was the only party providing aid to Syria.

“It’s outrageous twisting of facts which ignores what Russia has been doing for a long time”, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also officially responded to Mogherini’s statement “with surprise,”and said that Russia, “unlike other international players, is actively supplying thousands of tons of humanitarian aid to various regions in Syria, including the liberated areas in eastern Aleppo, at the risk of Russian military lives.”

“If the high representative [Mogherini] means providing assistance to terrorists and extremists, then we don’t participate in this, indeed”, the statement added….

The Russian official’s statement comes after the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said in Berlin on Wednesday, that the EU “are the ones – the ones, not among the ones – that are providing humanitarian aid, in Syria and around. I don’t see many others doing as much as we are”… … …

During the recent discussions at the Valdai Club meeting, the ex-president of Finland told Putin that bells are ringing in Finland for those killed in Aleppo. In response to this, the Russian president reasonably asked why Finnish bells are silent for the dead in Mosul. Of course, he did not receive an answer.

Today, Syria is the epicenter not only of military hostilities and the so-called proxy war between Russia and the US, but the epicenter of an information war in which, for the first time, the West has been seriously challenged.

Earlier, all American operations to demonize the leaders of certain countries in which they wanted to accomplish regime change were cheered and almost unopposed. But now everything is more complicated, and American spin doctors have to opt for obvious fakes to somehow justify the supranational oligarchy and bureaucracy’s desire to overthrow the Syrian government.

The Americans’ main problem is that they can’t make Bashar al-Assad into a second Bin Laden, which they apparently now really regret. With Bin Laden, Gaddafi, and Hussein, it was simple – they were accused of supporting terrorism, which the normal citizen was frightened of and believed. Everything was just a matter of technique. After all, fear is a very powerful weapon.

They also tried to play the weapons of mass destruction card with the Syrian leader, but failed. And most importantly, they failed to scare Western citizens with this.

Now they are compelled to pressure opinion through pity, by showing on CNN how Syrian or Russian air forces are supposedly bombing schools and peaceful neighborhoods in Aleppo…>>>…

Islamist militants have shelled a ‘humanitarian corridor’ set up to allow civilians to escape from eastern Aleppo, RIA Novosti reported.

The shelling came amid a ceasefire declared the by Syrian military and Russian Air Force.

“On October 20, starting at 8am, a humanitarian pause is to be introduced in Aleppo to allow civilians to escape and sick and injured people to be evacuated, and for militants to leave the eastern part of the city,” Lt. Gen. Sergey Rudskoy said.

At least six mortar shells were fired into the ‘humanitarian corridor’ by militants in the Bustan al-Qasr neighborhood of eastern Aleppo.

Small arms fire was also directed at a Syrian Army checkpoint, RIA Novosti reported on Thursday.

The exit from the corridor is approximately 200 meters from Islamist positions and apparently within reach of their small arms and mortar fire, according to the report.

Reports on civilian casualties were not immediately available.

The Aleppo residents, some sick and wounded, were trying to flee Islamist-controlled eastern Aleppo with an escort from UN and Syrian Red Crescent personnel.

Meanwhile, other ‘humanitarian corridors’ on Aleppo’s Castello Road remain safe, and the evacuation of civilians is expected to begin shortly, with buses and ambulances on standby ready to go, RIA Novosti reported… … …

Syrian Arab Army’s troops, with the active support of the Russian Air Force, are continuing their successful offensive in the north of Hama province, inflicting one defeat after another on foreign-backed jihadist-mercenaries.

The elite Tiger Force brigade has just taken control of Maardes, thus liberating another small town captured by U.S. supported ‘moderate-terrorists’ a few weeks ago. The army beat the bandits out after occupying several strategic heights and agricultural lands south and southeast of the city. This has been reported by the Tiger Force’s press service.

The offensive was successful largely thanks to the support of Russian and Syrian air forces, who launched massive airstrikes in addition to powerful artillery preparation by government troops. Press conferences by John Kerry and Boris Johnson following Western foreign ministers’ meeting in London confirms military options to save Jihadi fighters have been abandoned and that the Western powers have accepted that the Syrian government with Russian support will recapture eastern Aleppo.

The US military would never agree to enforce a “no fly zone” (or a “no bombing zone”) without an aerial bombardment since by failing (in US parlance) to “degrade” the Syrian air defences through an aerial bombardment the US would be placing its aircraft and pilots enforcing the “no fly zone” (or “no bombing zone”) at risk.

In a situation where the air defences in question are not merely Syrian but Russian – and therefore far more capable of shooting down US aircraft – the whole idea of enforcing a “no bombing zone” without an aerial bombardment to “degrade” these defences is inconceivable.

It is inconceivable that the US political and military leadership would put the lives of its personnel in Syria at risk in this way, especially in a situation which could easily escalate into a full-blown military confrontation with the Russians.

That is something that neither the West’s political nor its military leadership is prepared to risk.

It is now clear that for the foreseeable future the government of Syria will be the government of President Bashar Al-Assad, which is and always has been the legitimate UN recognised government of Syria…. … …

In recent weeks, the battle for Aleppo has exposed the true heart of contemporary global politics with vivid clarity. The US Air Force’s duplicitous Sept. 17 attack on Syrian army positions near Deir ez-Zor, the hysterical outcry against Russia that erupted from the Pentagon, the US State Department’s undisguised threats against the Russian contingent in Syria, the Western media’s candid reports about arms shipments to al-Nusra militants, and the phantasmagoric drama in the UN Security Council on Oct. 8 all point to just one thing: there are no international coalitions against ISIL- there is only the Russian army and its allies who are taking a stand against the international terrorism used as a tool by the U.S. and NATO.

The contours of today’s biggest international conflict are clear. But still not everyone understands its core and causes.

The conventional wisdom – that a decrepit global hegemon was unable to export “democracy” into a stable nation and now finds itself at a dead end – does not actually explain very much. But why did that stumbling block turn out to be Syria, which is certainly not the most significant country in the world? Why isn’t it, for example, Egypt that is under attack, where “fighters for democracy” from the Muslim Brotherhood have been unable to consolidate their victory and have even had to cede power to the powerful and far from pro-American government?

Why is Russia the country that is standing up to the aggressor? After all, Russia was on the verge of collapse not so long ago and is in no way a major competitor to the Western economy. And why is the United States pushing so fiercely to raise the stakes, driving the planet to the brink of a third world war?… … …

The Russian military intervention in Syria that began a year ago effectively helped save the war-torn Middle Eastern country from being turned into a Daesh (ISIS) caliphate.

Moscow launched its first airstrikes in Syria against terrorist positions in Syria on September 30.

The aerial campaign made possible to liberate key areas in Latakia, Idlib and Aleppo provinces, including Syria’s famous ancient city of Palmyra.

Michael Maloof, former Pentagon official and senior security policy analyst in the office of the secretary of defense, told Radio Sputnik that Russia’s mission has been extremely successful and has helped the Syrian government to regain much of what it had previously lost to the encroaching militants.

“If it (the Syrian government) had toppled, ISIS (Daesh) and the other Islamist groups would’ve swept in and Syria would be a different place today. It wouldn’t be a democratic government; it would be a caliphate, just an extension of a caliphate that exists right now. And of course the humanitarian crisis would’ve been even worse, not to mention the impact on various minorities in Syria. Assad’s government was protecting them for the most part, and ISIS (Daesh) wouldn’t have done that,” he said.

He also pointed out that it would be impossible to implement a so called ‘Libyan scenario’ in Syria, and if the US did try and repeat it, it would’ve brought about an “even greater chaos than we see in Libya today”.

The Kalibr cruise missile-equipped Serpukhov and Zeleny Dol corvettes are planned to join the Russian Navy’s permanent task force as part of an off-shore maritime zone rotation in the Mediterranean.

“The Third Black Sea Fleet small missile ship, the Mirazh (Project 1234), has left Sevastopol for the Mediterranean Sea,” a source in the Crimean security agencies told RIA Novosti.

“The fast-attack guided missile craft (FAC) of the Black Sea, ‘Mirage’ (Mirazh), has left Sevastopol and set out on a long Mediterranean journey, after having completed a round of preparations,” the interim head of the information department for the Black Sea fleet, Captain 2nd-rank Nikolay Voskresensky said.

The warships, The Serpukhov and The Zelyony Dol which are equipped with Kalibr long-range cruise missiles, left Sevastopol on Tuesday and are expected to reach the Mediterranean on Wednesday evening, Russian Navy’s Black Sea Fleet spokesman Nikolai Voskresensky said.

The ‘Mirage’ is aimed at protecting sea communications and convoys, and can also fight attack vessels in coastal areas. It is equipped with Malakhit cruise missile launchers and the Osa-M air defense system and artillery.

A Russian military source announced on Friday that Russia sent an additional number of bombers to the Hmeimim air base in Lattakia.

Izvestia daily quoted the source as saying that an extra number of Su-24 and Su-34 bombers has been sent to Hmeimim base, used by the Russian Air Force in the fight against terrorism in Syria.

Su-25 fighter-bombers have been prepared to head for Syria, the source added.

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stressed on Thursday that Russia will continue fighting terrorists and supporting the Syrian army in this regard.

The Russian Air Force started operations in Syria on September 30th, 2015 upon a request from the Syrian state. The Russian strikes have hit thousands of targets, destroying positions, equipment, vehicles, facilities and tanker trucks transporting stolen oil.

Terrorists’ strongholds in seven different regions in Northern Hama came under 75 air raids by the Russian and Syrian fighter jets on Friday.

The Russian and Syrian Air Forces carried out over 75 airstrikes above the terrorist-controlled villages of Souran, Taybat Al-Imam, Helfaya, Kawkab, Ma’an, Morek and Karrah.

Local reporters from the Syrian News Agency in Aleppo denied on Sunday media reports claiming that terrorists have entered the fourth quarter in al-Hamadaniyeh neighborhood in Aleppo city.

The reporter said these rumors are completely false and aim at spreading panic among the locals of the neighborhood to make them leave their homes, affirming that the locals are holding their ground and have not left their houses.

A military source has stressed that the Syrian Arab army is determined to eliminate the terrorist groups from all areas they are positioned across the country and prevent them from achieving their goals in Aleppo.

The source stressed that these terrorist groups haven’t been able to break the siege imposed on the terrorists in the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo, indicating that the mass media which is involved in shedding the Syrian’s blood is launching a wide psychological war through broadcasting tens of fabricated photos and videos to affect the morale of the citizens and mislead the public opinion and to cover the large numbers of the killed and injured terrorists in Saturday’s battles .

Army units carried out swift and abrupt military operations against gatherings of Jabhat al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham terrorists in al-Khadeliyeh neighborhood and on the axes of al-Lairamoun and Bani Zaid, establishing control over new building blocks and factories.
Hundreds of terrorists were killed, in addition to destroying a number of mortar launchers, weapons and ammunition during the operations.

Deir Ezzor:
The army’s air force destroyed two ISIS positions with weapons and equipment inside, in al-Mrei’iyeh, 10 km to the southeast of Deir Ezzor city, a military source told SANA on Thursday.

Daraa:
An army unit targeted a gathering of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in al-Nazihin camp in Daraa al- Balad area in Daraa city.
A number of terrorist leaders within Jabhat al-Nusra were killed or injured in the operation, which also left several of vehicles destroyed..

Sweida:
Army units operating in the southwestern countryside of Sweida province clashed with terrorist groups that infiltrated towards military posts in Barad and al-Mjeimer villages. Many of the terrorists were killed or injured and the rest fled back towards Busra al-Sham. The source said that among the killed terrorists were Mohammad al-Balkhi, Nasser al-Naawashi al-Mikdad, Ziad al-Balkhi, Saif-Eddin al-Mikdad, Ghassan al-Balkhi, Ahmad Ali Suleiman among others.

In Russia’s big cities and small villages stand monuments to fallen internationalist warriors. By accepting death in a foreign land, they returned home as symbols of loyalty to military duty…Many of the grown-up children and grandchildren of these internationalist-warriors have donned military uniforms, proving that the succession of generations is not an empty sound.

Some are in Syria today defending the world and our country from international terrorists who call for all of humanity to be killed.

13 soldiers and officers have returned from Syrian missions in advance, having fallen in battle against ISIS. But they did not fall into obscurity nor have they been abandoned. The Homeland remembers them and grieves for them.

he country will remember its heroes, be proud of them, and mourn that they are no longer with us. But we can rest assured knowing that their children will come to take the place of those who never returned from battle. Don’t mind the lamentations about “spoiled youth” and “lack of patriotism.” The Russian people, as alway, gives birth to and grows guys who are ready to lay down their lives for the Homeland….Real heroes.

RUSSIAN LONG-RANGE BOMBERS destroyed on Tuesday a large camp for ISIS in Palmyra eastern countryside of Homs province.
The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that 6 RUSSIAN TU-22M3 LONG-RANGE BOMBERS took off from an airbase in Russia on Tuesday and directed strikes to facilities and positions for ISIS terrorist organization to the east of Palmyra and in al-Sukhneh and Arak areas in Syria.
According to the Ministry, the strikes destroyed a large field camp for ISIS, three weapon depots, three tanks, four armored vehicles, and eight vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns, in addition to killing a significant number of terrorists.

HOMS ~ “Emir of Jabhat al-Nusra in al-Rastan” killed – The Syrian Air Force launched Sunday morning strikes against gatherings of ISIS terrorists in Khneifees area, 40 km east of Homs city, according to the military source. A number of terrorists were killed, others were injured and their vehicles, equipped with machine guns, were destroyed in the airstrikes. Meanwhile, a source on the ground confirmed the death of the “Emir of Jabhat al-Nusra in al-Rastan”, the terrorist Mahmoud Abdul-Karim Brouq, along with 10 members of his group in a special army operation carried out in the area between al-Ghajar and al-Zara villages in Homs northern countryside.

ALEPPO ~ A Syrian Army unit thwarted an attempt by a terrorist group to infiltrate into the Citadel of Aleppo, a military source said. The source pointed out that an army unit clashed with a terrorist group who was attempting to infiltrate into the Citadel of Aleppo through a tunnel, killing all of its members and destroying their weapons and ammunition.

ALEPPO ~ The Syrian army on Monday established full control over al-Mallah northern farm, part of al-Mallah southern farms, and two blocks of buildings near al-Lairamoun area in the northern countryside of Aleppo province after targeting the terrorist organizations’ dens and gatherings.
A military source confirmed to local reporters that the Syrian army’s operations resulted in killing a number of terrorists from the so-called “Nour Eddin Ezzenki Movement” and destroying their arms and equipment.
ALEPPO ~ Rocket shells were fired by terrorist groups on residential areas in Aleppo province, leaving casualties among civilians.
Two children were killed and 6 others were injured as two rocket shells hit al-Zahraa town in the northern countryside of the province, a source at Aleppo Police Command said.
ASAKA ~ The number of martyrs in the terrorist suicide bombing that hit al-Salihiyeh neighborhood in Hasaka city rose to 10 while the number of the wounded rose to 27.
DARAA ~ A Syrian army unit targeted dens and fortifications of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization in Daraa al-Balad area in Daraa province.
The army’s operations resulted in killing most members of a terrorist group affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra that were doing fortification works to the south of the Electricity Company, in addition to destroying a vehicle for the terrorists.

More ISIS command centers and convoys of vehicles have been hit as the Syrian Arab Armed Forces continued operations against the positions of this and other terrorist organizations in various areas, with the air force inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorists’ ranks.

Syrian Army units oerating in Daraa al-Balad targeted fortified sites and machine gun positions for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization and other Takfiri groups affiliated to it near the Power Company and Khazan al-Kark, destroying the aforementioned sites completely and killing and injuring a number of terrorists.

A military source said that a Syrian army unit destroyed 9 tankers for Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS) terrorists filled with oil stolen from oil fields in al-Badiya (the Desert) and 3 4WD vehicles near al-Shi’aab village in Sweida eastern countryside.

The Syrian Army’s Air Force destroyed armored vehicles equipped with machine guns belonging to ISIS terrorists to the south of al-Tabqa city, 55 km west of Raqqa city.

Takfiri terrorist groups acknowledged the death of the terrorist Samir Shartah, who is identified as the “Military Emir of Ajnad al-Sham” group in the southern countryside of Aleppo.
Social media pages affiliated to the terrorist groups said the terrorist Shartah, who is known as “Abu Mohammad Kafrouma”, was killed on Thursday in Zitan town to the south of Aleppo city.
